Meditation: The Science & The Practice

Hosted by Collective Knowing with The Monk Dude

Space is limited. We encourage you to reserve a seat.

You've probably read somewhere about the research confirming that meditation reduces stress and anxiety and improves focus. That's true. If you do it. Kind of like how exercising and eating well will help you maintain your ideal weight. If you implement.
Continuous low-level stress weakens our immunity and emotional resilience, and interferes with our ability to focus, think clearly and be productive. Escalating uncertainties in the world around us only add to our stress, leading to an epidemic of sleeplessness, anxiety and depression.
Given the overwhelming evidence that meditation is a neat solution to this problem, why don't more people practice it? Some think it might be hard, or boring or time consuming or that it is just too weird.
It doesn't have to be like that. OK, it's a bit weird, but the other stuff is just not true. Meditation can be really enjoyable, it doesn't take a lot of time, and if taught in the right way, it's not boring or hard at all. What once seemed like homework can feel like a love story!
One thing is for sure. As a 7000 year old tradition, Meditation is the most tested mental health technique in the history of the world. And that's before all the new research. Meditation really works!
From our workshop you'll come away with:
  • A basic understanding of what meditation is and isn't and what the science tells us.
  • A simple, pleasurable meditation technique to practice at home. This can take as little as 5 minutes a day.
  • A selection of specially recorded music to put you in the mood for meditation, making it a LOT easier to practice.
  • An easy process to help you cultivate positive emotions and calm your mind.
